Objection to Demolition Orders in Area C
Dkaika (pop 400): In mid-November 2011, Bimkom and Rabbis for Human Rights filed a petition to the High Court of Justice, on behalf of the residents, against new demolition orders against Palestinian homes and agricultural buildings, and against the CA’s proposal to relocate the residents against their wishes and in contradiction to the court’s recommendations in a previous petition. A plan prepared by the village with Bimkom’s assistance was completed and submitted in December 2011. In the meantime, agreement has been reached with the State attorney’s office to freeze the demolition orders until a discussion of this plan is held with the CA, with our participation. If the plan is rejected, we will have 60 days to submit a new petition to the court. There has been no further progress to date.
