Building permit
Virtually all building (including for residential, agricultural, employment or other purposes, and including most building alterations and additions) must receive a permit. In principle, the permit must be obtained before the building is carried out, but building may also be retroactively permitted. Building permits can be granted only in line with an approved plan that contains enough detailed provisions (e.g., size of the building, its height, distance from the boundaries of the plot etc). When no permit is granted, the building is illegal and may be subject to fines and/or demolition.
