Demolition order
When a building (or part of it) has no permit, the building authorities may issue a demolition order for it. Demolition orders are not necessarily carried out, but may be actualized any time in the future. If a demolition order was issued, the landlord may submit a request for a building permit to render the construction legal. If the request is denied, he/she may petition the court, which almost always rejects the petition. If the landlord doesn’t demolish the building, the authorities may demolish it instead and require him/her to pay for the expenses of the demolition.
